The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council has hosted the Area Commander, Federal Fire Service (FFS), Zaria Area Command, ACF Aminu Ahmadu, alongside his team of officers, at the Zaria Local Government Secretariat.
During the visit, the Chairman formally decorated eight (8) newly promoted officers—some elevated from Deputy Superintendent of Fire to Superintendent of Fire, and others from Assistant Superintendent of Fire to Deputy Superintendent of Fire.
He congratulated the officers on their well-deserved promotions and charged them to sustain the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and prompt service in safeguarding lives and property within their communities.
In recognition of the Local Government’s sustained support to emergency response services, the Chairman was presented with an Award of Excellence by the Federal Fire Service.
The award acknowledges the Council’s continuous assistance, including regular fueling of fire service vehicles to strengthen emergency response capacity, as well as the full construction of the Federal Fire Service building at the Works Department.
Notably, Zaria Local Government Council stands as the only local government in Nigeria to have provided this level of institutional support to the Federal Fire Service.
Earlier today, Tuesday, 20th January 2026, the Chairman also attended a promotion decoration ceremony at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kaduna State Command Headquarters.
He formally decorated the Divisional Officer, Zaria Division, Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC) Umar Ibn Mohammed, following his promotion.
The decoration was jointly performed with senior officers, including a Group Captain and Wing Commander M. Habibu.The Chairman emphasized that recognizing and motivating security and emergency service personnel remains vital to effective service delivery.
He reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to sustained collaboration with all security agencies to strengthen leadership, boost morale, and ensure peace, safety, and efficient emergency response across Zaria Local Government Area.
A statement signed by Ishaq Galadima, the chief press secretary office of the Chairman said the Chairman congratulates all promoted officers and wishes them continued success in their service to the nation.
