As part of the effort to strengthen and ensure good governance, renewed commitment to the people of Zaria Local Government under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad Jaga, has initiated a robust engagement yesterday with visits to several places and assignments.
The day commenced with a courtesy visit to Professor Y. Y. Bambale, a distinguished senior citizen and academician at the Faculty of Law, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Congo Campus. The discussion was insightful and inspiring, reflecting the depth of wisdom and experience of the Professor.
From there, the Chairman joined the vibrant community of Jama’atu Girls College of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Kofar Kibo, for the graduation of junior, senior, and primary school students.
While congratulating the graduates, he pledged the construction of a Vocational/ICT Training Facility for the school.
In her remarks, the Principal, Malama Mardiyya, expressed heartfelt gratitude, noting it was the first time in over a decade that the institution had received such a visit from a Local Government Chairman.
The Chairman also paid condolence visits to the families of Late Major Aliyu of Gwargeje, over the passing of his son, Buhari Major Aliyu, and to the family of Sheikh Karami Khalifa of Kofar Kibo, who lost his mother.
In Dutsen Abba Ward, he inspected the ongoing construction of the Federal College of Veterinary Sciences and the site for the construction of the College of Agriculture at UPE Zaria, both legacy projects facilitated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., GCON.
Upon returning to the office, the Chairman received delegations, including the Unguwar Jamawa Kwarbai Women Multipurpose Association, who reaffirmed their confidence in his leadership and presented him with an award of honor in recognition of his unwavering commitment to women and community development.
Later in the afternoon, he inspected the construction of the new Government Girls Junior and Senior Secondary School, Kofar Gayan. Upon completion, the old school will be relocated to pave the way for the Zaria Education City, Kofar Gayan, which will host the National Open University and the Federal College of Education.
A statement signed by the chief press secretary/ office of the chairman Zaria local government Ishaq Galadima said the engagement was concluded with meaningful evening engagements with individuals and community groups, further strengthening dialogue, unity, and collaboration across the local government.
Reaffirming his vision, the Chairman emphasized his unshakable commitment to working in synergy with the Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, CON, and the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the House of Representatives, to deliver inclusive growth, educational opportunities, and sustainable development for the people of Zaria.
