AKWA IBOM: POLICE RAID LEADS TO ARREST OF SUSPECTED NOTORIOUS VANDAL

In Akwa Ibom State,  men of the state police command have successfully arrested a suspected habitual vandal following an intelligence-led raid.

Acting on a credible information, Operatives of the Command mobilized to raid the premises of God’stime Emmanuel James, a 23-year-old male from Midim Water Side. James, who had previously fled the community, was wanted in connection with the vandalization of school structures and private homes.

Upon arrival, officers sighted James and several other unknown individuals. James was apprehended during the raid, while the others escaped into a nearby creek on sighting the police vehicle.

Items recovered from the scene include a small handbag containing dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, four door handles, a mini flashlight, and several parts of damaged door locks.

A statement signed by the command public relations officer DSP Timfon John said the suspect is currently in police custody. Authorities are asking victims of recent vandalism in the area to come forward to provide identification and statements to assist with the ongoing investigation and prosecution.
