
Today marks exactly one year since I assumed office as the Chairman of Zaria Local Government. It has been a journey of learning, service, and commitment to the people of our beloved Zaria.To celebrate this special milestone, we choose to empower lives and give hope.
A total of 250 widows and mothers of orphans received ₦100,000 each to support their small businesses, helping them build financial stability and independence.In addition, we trained and empowered persons with special needs and youths on POS operations. Each of them received a brand-new POS machine and a ₦50,000 start-up capital to begin their own business journey.
The event was graced by distinguished guests and leaders, including our representatives at the Kaduna State House of Assembly members; Hon. Engr. Isa Haruna Mohd (IHAMO) and Hon. Mahmud Lawal (Bola Ige); as well as Malam Iliyasu Balarabe (DCOS), Dr. Hamisu Kubau (S.A. Political), Alh. Aminu Ramalan (S.A. Monitoring and Evaluation), Mal Sama’ila Yesko (S.A./CCO), and Abdulganiyu Bala (S.A. Agriculture), Federal Commissioner, Jakadan Zazzau, Hon Yakubu Soja and so many other important dignitaries.
We were equally honored by the presence of our respected traditional leaders; the District Heads of Birni da Kewaye and Waje Districts, Bar. Aisha Ahmad Muhammad (Adda), Secretary/Legal Adviser of KADIRS, APC Chairman, Alh. Aminu Kalila, Speaker of the Zaria Legislative Council, Hon. Auwal Balarabe, our Ulamas, and CAN Chairman also graced the occasion.
We are also grateful to our Boss and Mentor, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen Ph.D GCON, Speaker House Representatives, for empowering 80 additional women in our political struggles with ₦100,000 each, and sponsoring the first batch of 5 students on full International scholarships to Malaysia for their undergraduate studies, each was supported with additional $1,000 as pocket money.
I also presented permanent and pensionable employment letters to 34 citizens of women and youth of Zaria at NARICT, through the kind intervention and unwavering commitment of the Rt. Hon. Speaker. His consistent efforts toward youth employment, education, and empowerment continue to inspire hope across Zaria and beyond.
I also wish to sincerely appreciate His Excellency, Our Leader the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Sen. Uba Sani, for his continued support, guidance, and leadership, which have greatly strengthened local governance and development in Zaria.
Finally, I sincerely thank the good people of Zaria for your unending prayers, support, encouragement, and trust throughout this journey.
Every achievement we record is made possible by your cooperation and belief in our vision for a greater Zaria.Over the past year, we have recorded tangible results across key sectors:
Infrastructure Development: Ongoing Road constructions and drainages across Kwarbai A, kakaki in Kwarbai B, and Gangare in Tudun Wada, repairs and installation of new transformers at Bambale, Kan Tudu, and Kofar Galadima, construction of Federal Fire Service Building at Abdulra’uf Jisambo Complex, the first of its kind in any LGA nationwide.
Education & Youth Empowerment: Over 500 tertiary institutions students benefitted from our the Need-Based Scholarship Scheme, full JAMB and NECO sponsorships, and creation of 183 jobs to secure our primary schools.
Health Care: Renovation and upgrade of PHC Kwaba, PHC Jakara Kusfa, and PHC Anguwan Bishar, provision of essential drugs, employment of 40 security guards, and emergency responses during cholera, diphtheria and measles outbreaks.
Agriculture: Renovation of slaughterhouses, CBPP & PPR livestock vaccination, and upgrade of nursery farms for dry-season farming.Security & Administration: Repaired Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), support for security personnel and provision of logistics.
Humanitarian Support: ₦20 million spent in medical aid to the less privileged, ₦25 million support to the Christian community during Christmas and New and distribution of 250 rams during Eid celebrations.
This day is not just about marking a year in office it is about renewing our promise to serve with sincerity, empower our people, and build a stronger, prosperous Zaria
