The Executive Chairman Zaria local government council Engr Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga), has yesterday formally presented and robustly defended the Council’s 2026 Budget before the Joint Committee on Appropriation and Local Government at the Kaduna State House of Assembly, under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Shehu Yunusa.
A statement signed by Galadima Ishaq chief press secretary office of the Chairman disclosed that the engagement provided a strategic platform to articulate the Council’s fiscal direction, emphasizing people-centric allocations targeted at infrastructure renewal, agricultural productivity, youth empowerment, and improved grassroots service delivery.
It said the proposed budget is deliberately aligned with the SUSTAIN development framework of the Sen. Uba Sani administration, reinforcing policy coherence between state and local government priorities.
Upon approval, the 2026 fiscal plan is set to accelerate socio-economic development across all wards, expand economic opportunities, and deepen accountable, transparent, and result-driven governance in Zaria Local Government.
