Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has extended his warmest congratulations to the renowned philanthropist and elder statesman, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (Rtd), on the auspicious occasion of his 87th birthday on the 9th December.

In a message of felicitation by his Special Adviser on Media, Dauda Iliya, Governor Zulum praised General Danjuma as a respected leader whose life has been defined by profound selflessness, unwavering humanitarian commitment, and dedication to the advancement of humanity.

“On behalf of the Government and the people of Borno State, I wish to offer our heartfelt congratulations to our esteemed elder statesman and philanthropist, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma on the celebration of his 87th birthday,” Zulum said.

The Governor highlighted the significant impact of the TY Danjuma Foundation in bringing succour and smiles to many less privileged members of society, providing critical support not only to communities in Borno State and the North-East region but across the nation.

Governor Zulum specifically recalled the generous donation of N1 billion made by the Foundation in response to the devastating 2024 Maiduguri flood disaster.

“This extraordinary act of philanthropy provided immense relief to the victims of that catastrophe,” the Governor emphasised.

He further acknowledged the pivotal role played by the former Presidential Committee on the North-East Initiative (PCNI) under General Danjuma’s leadership.

The committee spearheaded vital reconstruction efforts and humanitarian assistance for millions of displaced persons across the region.

“The PCNI, led by General Danjuma, delivered crucial humanitarian aid including food and non-food items, economic empowerment, infrastructure support and other essential assistance to millions of displaced persons in Borno, the epicentre of Boko Haram conflict,” Governor Zulum added.

Once again, a very happy birthday, Sir.
