   The Zamfara State Government Commiserates With the Communities of Dan Mada and Fas Villages in Gummi and Local Government Over the Tragic Incident That Claimed Many Lives of their People.

   Zamfara State Government committee for assessment and provide support to victims of bandit attacks and other disasters in the state, under the leadership of the Deputy Governor, Mani Malam Mummuni (Masamar Mudi), visited the areas affected by a boat mishap which resulted in the death of 21 people in Dan Mada village, Birnin Magaji district, and an accident involving a bus killed 19 people in Fas village, Bardoki district of Gummi Local Government Area

This is contained in a statement signed by the Press secretary office of the deputy governor, Shehu Adamu Gusau issued to newsmen.

  The Acting Governor expressed his condolences to the people of the affected areas on behalf of the state government and sympathized with them over this great tragedy, and also extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.

   Mani Mummuni stated that the state government will make efforts to re-construct a temporary bridge at Fas, and later build a permanent bridge and road. He added that engineers have already been deployed to begin the work.
  The Deputy Governor further disclosed the government donation of N500,000 to each of the families of the 21 deceased from Dan Mada village.

  In his vote of thanks on behalf of the affected families and Gummi Emirate, the Emir of Gummi, Sarkin Mafara, Justice Lawal Hassan, thanked the Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal for providing this committee to show concern and support to the people affected by such calamities.

   He advised the Zamfara state government to collaborate with the Federal Inland Waterways Authority to provide modern boats in order to prevent such incidents in the future.

  Among the delegation are, the Speaker  Zamfara State House of Assembly, Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki, Chairman Zamfara State Council of Chiefs and Also Emir of Anka, Alhaji Attahiru Ahmad Anka, Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ahmad Garba Yandi, Commissioner for Information, Mahmud Muhammad, Commissioner for Security and Internal Affairs, Bala Muhammad Mairiga, among others.

In another development the State Acting Governor, Mani  Malam Mummuni (Masamar Mudi) has left Gusau the state capital to Abuja at around 18:00hrs to attend the National Economic Council Meeting.
