The Zamfara State Government has approved the reinstatement and immediate commencement of salary payment to 650 verified staff across various Local Government Areas in the state.
A statement from the office of the state commissioner ministry of local government and chieftaincy affairs said this development follows a comprehensive verification exercise conducted by the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to ensure transparency, accountability, and due process in the administration of local government personnel matters.
The Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr. Ahmad Garba Yandi, stated that the affected staff were cleared after a thorough screening process which confirmed their genuine employment status and eligibility for reinstatement.
He emphasized that the exercise was in line with the present administration’s commitment to fairness, justice, and the welfare of civil servants.
According to the Commissioner, the approval underscores the dedication of the Zamfara State Government under the able leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal to strengthening the local government system and boosting morale among workers at the grassroots level.
He noted that prompt payment of salaries remains a top priority of the administration to enhance service delivery and improve governance outcomes.
The Ministry reassured all local government employees that the government will continue to implement reforms aimed at sanitizing the system, eliminating irregularities, and ensuring that only duly employed and verified staff remain on the payroll.
