The Zamfara State Acting Governor, Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi attended the Local Government Area Primary Health Care Leadership Challenge for Local Government Chairmen organized by Zamfara State Primary Health Care Board.The programme was held at Dr. Garba Nadama Conference Hall J.B Yakubu Secretariat, Gusau where awards were presented to the best performing Local Government Area with regards to the Health Care service delivery in the State.This is contained in a statement signed by the Chief press secretary office of the deputy governor Shehu Adamu Gusau issued by newsmen.The Acting Governor recognizes the commitment of Zamfara State Government under the Leadership of His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Dauda Lawal for his absolute support to the success of Health Care Service delivery across the State.Mani Malam Mummuni said the PHC Leadership Challenge is a strategic initiative designed to address critical Leadership gaps within the Primary Health Care system and more so it is a concept that builds the capacity of States to deliver high quality and sustainable health services to all citizens.The Deputy Governor also mentioned that the initiative is a collaborative effort between the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, the Nigerian Governor’s Forum, and the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, with technical assistance from UNICEF and financial support from Bill and Milinda Gates and the Aliko Dangote Foundations.He on behalf of the Zamfara State Government congratulated the victorious Local Government Areas for putting their best in this challenge and assured that the State Government will do everything possible to ensure that Primary Health Care Services are delivered to every community in an affordable, accessible and secured environment. He finally appreciates and commend the efforts of Health Workers and the Development partners for their various effort, collaboration and dedication.
