Zamfara State Acting Governor Attends Northern States Governors’ Forum Meeting in Kaduna

The Zamfara state Acting Governor of has participated in the Northern States Governors’ Forum meeting held at the Council Chamber of Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna.

The high-level meeting focused on reviewing the report submitted by the Technical Committee on the restructuring of the New Nigerian Development Company (NNDC).

This is contained in a statement signed by Shehu Adamu Gusau Press secretary office of the deputy Governor issued to newsmen.

The committee, chaired by the Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, presented key recommendations aimed at revitalizing the NNDC. The recommendations were unanimously approved by the Forum.

Among the major outcomes of the meeting was the endorsement of a comprehensive framework for the NNDC, including a clearly defined vision, mission, objectives, and business model. The committee also outlined the proposed shareholding structure, organizational framework, and corporate governance mechanisms.

Furthermore, the Forum approved the structure of the Board of Governors and the composition of the Board of Directors that will oversee the affairs of the NNDC.

In addition, the committee recommended strategic investment directions for the NNDC across critical sectors to boost the economic development of Northern Nigeria.

To ensure effective implementation, the Forum mandated the committee chairman to lead the execution process for an initial period of one year. The committee has also been authorized to co-opt technical experts and relevant stakeholders—particularly distinguished sons and daughters from the Northern region—while taking into account regional diversity and priorities.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the Northern States Governors’ Forum to fostering regional development through collaborative and strategic economic reforms.
