Zamfara APC Mourns Killing of Party Chieftain, Umar Sarkin Fada Moriki.

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the tragic death of Umar Sarkin Fada Moriki, who was gruesomely killed by unknown gunmen in the early hours of Saturday, 15th November 2025.

According to a statement issued by the APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Yusuf Idris Gusau, the incident occurred at Fegi village near Gidan Dawa in Tsafe Local Government Area while the deceased was travelling from Gusau to Kaduna.

Moriki had earlier participated in the APC stakeholders’ meeting and the grand reception held in honour of the visiting Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, who is in the state to meet with party members, associates, friends, and supporters.

Late Umar Sarkin Fada Moriki was a prominent political figure who held several key positions, including Vice Chairman of Zurmi Local Government, Director-General of State Revenue Generation, and Special Adviser on Rural Electrification, among others.He died at the age of 62 and is survived by three wives and many children.

Following the sad development, the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has cancelled all scheduled engagements in his hometown of Maradun to attend the funeral prayer of the late party chieftain.APC leaders, executives, members, and supporters have already converged on Gusau for the funeral, which is scheduled to take place at the Low-Cost Juma’at Mosque.

The party described the late Moriki as a philanthropist who dedicated his life to assisting the needy and less privileged, noting that he will be remembered for his simplicity, hard work, honesty, and devotion to the service of Allah.

“We pray to Almighty Allah to grant his soul Jannatul Firdaus and give his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement added.
