The news on the establishment of the Nigerian Army Special Forces School in Doma, Nassarawa State which filtered after the commissioning of the Special Forces Command Headquarters by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General OO Oluyede on 15th August 2025, has raised serious concerns about the fate of the Nigerian Army Special Forces School in Buni Yadi, Gujba LGA of Yobe State.

The special adviser to the Yobe state Governor on security matters,Brig Gen Abdulsalam Dahiru in a statement issued to newsmen said It has become necessary for clarification to be made on the fate of the  Nigerian Army Special Forces School in Buni Yadi.

The statement explained that the Nigerian Special Forces School Buni Yadi has been conducting acclimatization and pre-induction training for all forces inducted into the Northeast Theatre of Operations. While the Special Forces Training was conducted elsewhere.

However,it said  the establishment of the Special Forces Command in Doma necessitates the co-location of the Special Forces School with the Command Headquarters, hence, the foundation laying ceremony conducted in Doma by the Chief of Army Staff.

For the purpose of clarity, the school in Buni Yadi is now designated as the Nigerian Army Acclimatization Centre and would continue to perform its role of preparing forces for induction into the Theatre of Operations.

The school in Buni Yadi is not relocating anywhere. It still remains in Buni Yadi.

The statement therefore  appreciated the genuine concern expressed by well meaning citizens and also acknowledges the support our troops continue to enjoy from the citizens and good people of Yobe State.
