The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu NAM has emphasized the strategic significance of warrior ethos as a fundamental pillar for operational effectiveness.

Major General Ademola Adedoja made this assertion during a seminar held at the Ihejirika Auditorium, Jaji Military Cantonment by Army Headquarters Department of Transformation and Innovation (AHQ DATI) with a theme: “From Trauma to Triumph: Building Combat Ready Warriors in the Nigerian Army”.General Shaibu stated that, integrating lessons from the field with intellectual reflection and doctrinal innovation, strategies could be refined to enhance operational effectiveness.

The COAS affirmed that the topics for the seminar were specifically selected to address key issues in today’s dynamic and complex security environment.In appreciation, the COAS expressed immense gratitude to the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for his strategic support to the Nigerian Army, and to the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede for his leadership guidance.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chief of Transformation and Innovation (COTI) AHQ DATI, Major General Olusegun Abai represented by the Director Lessons Learned, disclosed that the seminar is aimed to create awareness and measures to combat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and to eliminate the recourse to drugs by troops.

Major General Abai appreciated the erudite resource persons for the well delivered lectures stating that it will no doubt boost the enthusiasm to uphold the pillars of the Nigerian Army, thereby optimizing the professionalism of NA personnel for enhanced operational effectiveness.

The lectures presented during the seminar are: “Intensifying Warrior Ethos and Mental Toughness”delivered by Maj Gen C Ofoche (Rtd), “Effect of Drugs/Substance Abuse on NA Operational Effectiveness” delivered by ACN S Muhammad of NDLEA Kaduna state command and “Overcoming Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in the NA” delivered by Lt Col SJ Dibal (Rtd).
