VC FUE Zaria Prof Isa Bunkure Inspects University Facilities.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUE Zaria), Professor Yahaya Isa Bunkure, undertook an extensive inspection tour of various facilities across the University.The exercise was aimed at assessing the level of progress on completed, ongoing, and rehabilitated projects within the institution.

The tour covered several key sites, including the ongoing construction of the CBT Centre in Languages, the Mopol Block, which is being renovated and converted into a CBT Centre, the Mathematics Block, and the Chief Lecturers’ Block, all under rehabilitation.

The Vice-Chancellor also visited the Remedial Programme Block, which is at the completion stage; the University Central Mosque, under renovation by A.A. Rano and the Female Students’ Hostel, where he inspected the hostel rooms, a mosque being built within the hostel, and the Students’ Common Rooms.The Vice Chancellor, also visited the Amb. Jidda Baba Ahmed, CBT Centre and Hon. Abbas Tajudeen CBT Centre where he inspected the ongoing second semester examinations.

Other areas inspected included the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) Secretariat, comprising the President’s Office and the SRC Business Centre, as well as the Water Works, El-Rufa’i Hall (currently under renovation), the University Clinic and its extension facilities, the Security Unit, the Skills Acquisition and Linkages Directorate, and the University Store.

Professor Isa Bunkure was accompanied during the inspection by the Acting Registrar, Malam Shehu Iya Sa’idu; the Acting Bursar, Malam Muhammad Kabir Aliyu; the Director of Works, Quantity Surveyor Hassan Buba; and the Director of Internal Audit, Malam Dahiru Garba, alongside other principal officers and directors of the University.

At the end of the exercise, the Vice-Chancellor expressed satisfaction with the progress of work at most of the sites and urged contractors to redouble their efforts to ensure timely completion.

He finally reaffirmed his administration’s drive to complete all inherited projects, and commitment to enhancing the University’s physical and learning environment to provide a more conducive atmosphere for teaching, learning, and research.
