The Zamfara State Acting Governor, Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi flagged off the Keep Zamfara Clean and Green Environmental Sanitation Awareness.
The program organized by Zamfara Environmental Protection and Enforcement Agency (ZEEPEA) was held at AA Rano Plaza Lalan, Gusau for a cleaner, safer and healthier Zamfara State.
The Acting Governor said the initiative is a visionary step taken by ZEEPEA to align with the transformational agenda of His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal who we all know is fully committed to make Zamfara State one of the cleanest, most environmentally responsible States in the Federation.
Mani Malam Mummuni also said Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration attached great importance to environmental sanitation as a key pillar for public health, sustainable development and community well being, a clean environment is a foundation for a healthy society, economic growth and improved quality of life. For this reason the Government will continue to give maximum support to the Ministry of Environment and its agency ZERPEA for introducing and championing this worthy initiative.
According to him as the exercise begins at Lalan today a major gateway to our beloved capital city I urge all of our traders, business owners, residence, cooperate organizations, community leaders and stakeholders to take ownership of the programme and participate actively, maintaining proper sanitation and hygiene practice is not only responsible but a necessity it’s the most executive way to prevent diseases such as malaria, cholera typhoid and other water born infection that threaten our communities.
