The House of Representatives pledged to partner with the executive arm, aimed at finding lasting solutions to the current insecurity challenges in the country.

The House of Representatives has begun a two day special session aimed at collaborating with the executive arm to provide lasting solutions to the prevailing security situation in the country.

The session was designed to receive inputs from the leadership of the house Committees on security matters, principal officers, regional leaders and other members representing various constituencies in the green chamber.

Declaring the session open, Speaker of the house Dr Abbas Tajuddeen, said the special session was part of the 10th house agenda which includes assessing the performances of Ministries and agencies of government for better results.

Dr Abbas Tajuddeen, also assured that at the end of the two deliberations the house will draft a resolution for onward communication to the executive for proper implementation on the lingering security situation in the country.

The Tuesday special plenary so far received submissions from the chairmen of the house Committees on Defence, Army, Police, security and intelligence, Navy, Air force and the committee on Judiciary while other members of the house are expected to make their submissions tomorrow Wednesday.

Reports said that most of the committee chairmen that spoke during the plenary emphasized the need for proactive action towards putting an end to the activities of terrorist the North East, Kidnapping in the North West and militancy in the South South.
