The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Professor Yahaya Isa Bunkure, received Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Girei, Director of the TETFund Centre of Excellence for Teaching Basic Agro Business Skills (TCoE-TBABS), Federal College of Education, Yola, in his office today.
Dr. Ilesanmi Ajibola, Director of the University’s TETFund Centre of Excellence for Technology Enhanced Learning (TeCETEL), led and introduced Dr. Girei to the Vice-Chancellor.
Dr. Ajibola stated that the purpose of Dr. Girei’s visit was to conduct a fact-finding mission, with the aim of studying TeCETEL’s model and gaining insights to support the development of their Centre in Yola.
Welcoming the visitor, Professor Bunkure expressed his delight that TeCETEL has become a benchmark for Centres of Excellence in other institutions, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and excellence in education.
A statement signed by Sani Lawal maqarphy media aide to the VC said the Vice-Chancellor emphasized that TeCETEL’s dedication to technology-driven education is transforming teaching and learning, equipping students and educators with the relevant skills and training needed in a rapidly evolving educational landscape.
Professor Bunkure commended the management of TeCETEL for their tireless efforts in positioning the Centre as a hub of innovation and a driver of positive change within the education sector.
In his remarks, Dr. Girei expressed his gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for the warm reception and noted that the visit would provide overview and practical ideas to strengthen their Centre, TCoE-TBABS, in FCE Yola.
The meeting also featured discussions on potential areas of collaboration and partnership between the two institutions, with a focus on advancing education, agriculture and innovation.
Present at the meeting were Dr. Ramatu Nuru, Deputy Director of TeCETEL, and Barr. Mohammad Saminu Abubakar, Administrative Officer.
