Suspended Students of Jega College of Health Sciences and Technology to be Recall; KBSG

The Kebbi state government has directed for the recall of affected students of the October 27th unrest at the College of Health Sciences and Technology Jega.

Briefing newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Friday, the College Provost, Hussaini Aliyu, said over 250 students were affected as a result of non- accreditation of courses in the College but once the accreditation exercise is concluded soon enabling them to continue with their studies and graduate with National Diploma (ND).

Recalled that, the students unrest was as a result of non- accreditation of courses offered by the school.

The Provost stated that, the State government, has approved the sum of #60 million naira for the accreditation of eight academic programmes of the College by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) which the process is ongoing and near completion.

According to him, the programme to be accredited are Community, Public and Environmental Health, Pharmacy, Medical Lab, Health Information Management, Health Education and Promotion as well as Nutrition.

He said, the College Management in Collaboration With the Governing Council and the Ministry for Higher Education, remains fully aligned with the Nasiru Idris led administration’s educational transformation and rejuvenation vision focused on quality, accessible and institutional excellence.
