In an effort to improve performance, the Gombe State Government has gifted Gombe United Football Club a newly branded coaster bus.
The bus is part of His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s effort to push the team to do well in the second round of the Nigeria National League as the club seeks to improve its performances.
The Gombe state governor who was represented by his deputy Dr Manasseh Daniel Jatau, presented the bus to the General Manager of the club, Anas Bamusa on behalf of the management.
While addressing the team, the deputy governor reassured the team of Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s commitment to supporting the team in every way he can. He said the Governor provided this bus in order to ease the team’s transportation difficulties.
He urged the team to improve on its performances so as to restore the dignity of the club so that it will compete with other top teams in the league.
Dr Manasseh also advised the team to be security conscious while traveling by avoiding night journeys. He suggested that the team should break every journey that will require night traveling.
On behalf of the management of Gombe United, the club’s General Manager Anas Bamusa appreciated His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Gombe State Alh. Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for this intervention and assured the governor of the club’s determination to reciprocate the support with good performances that will restore the honor associated with the club and the good people of Gombe State.
In attendance during the presentation were the Chief Of Staff to the Executive Governor, Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Ibrahim Inuwa, the Chairman Gombe State Football Association, Yakubu Sarma, other top government officials, management of the club, technical crew, players, and other stakeholders.
