……Called for reform of the United Nations and other international organisations to accommodate Africa
In his continued engagements at the on going World Speaker’s forum holding in Geneva,the Speaker of the house of representatives,Dr Tajudeen Abass wants Africa to take right place at the heart of global decision marking.
He maintained that in this turbulent era, from climate disasters to geo political unrest, Africa bears the heaviest burden despite contributing the least to the crises
Dr Tajudeen Abass also called for reform of the United Nations security Council and the Bretton wood system, moving Africa from the margins to the centre.
While highlighting the bold steps taken by the tenth assembly,the Speaker said the house has championed the reserved seats for women Bill to close seven percent female representation gap.
Others are empowering 1.2 million students annually, through the students loans act, driving climate action and demanding fulfillment of the 100 billion dollars global climate finance pledges, advance digital governance to harness and 5 billion dollars Tech ecosystem.
Dr Tajudeen Abass therefore reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian parliament in ensuring peace, justice and inclusive prosperity not only in Nigeria but Africa and the world.
