The RT HON Speaker of the House of Representatives,Dr Tajudeen Abass has presented utility vehicles to some of esteemed traditional rulers in the Southern part of Nigeria through SMEDAN. This is the second time this year we have extended such support to royal fathers in the region, in recognition of their invaluable role in peacebuilding, conflict mediation, cultural preservation, and community development.He said that the traditional institutions are not just ceremonial – they are the bedrock of stability in our diverse federation. According to him, these vehicles are not gifts of comfort; they are tools for duty, enhancing the mobility and effectiveness of leaders who serve as the first point of contact for millions of citizens.The Speaker also use the opportunity to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the bold reforms his administration has pursued since assuming office. He observed that they have been tough but necessary, requiring patience and sacrifice. Dr Tajudeen Abass said already, we are seeing the results: gradual stabilisation of exchange rates, improved fiscal discipline, growth in agriculture, better revenues for states, and renewed investor confidence. These achievements confirm that the path we are on is the right one.The Speaker maintained that as we work together to build a stronger Nigeria, it is vital that we support, respect, and empower our traditional rulers.He said this is because their role is critical to ensuring peace, order, and effective governance at the grassroots. This initiative aligns fully with the Renewed Hope Agenda and reflects our commitment to sustainable national development.To our royal fathers today – HRM Ayangburen of Ikorodu, HRM Onikate of Ikate, HRM Paramount Ruler of Okobo Land, Igwe Fidelis Ogbu of Enugu, HRH Igwe Dr. Robert C. of Anambra, HIM Oba Arole-Agbala of Ondo, and HE Ede of Ekiti – thank you for your unwavering service and leadership.

He therefore called on them that together, let’s protect the gains we have made, consolidate our reforms, and ensure that the progress of Nigeria continues
