The RT Hon Speaker of the Federal house of representatives,Dr Abbas Tajudeen has saluted the men and women of Nigeria’s Armed Forces for their bravery, discipline, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to defending our nation against internal and external threats. You stand as the shield of our sovereignty and the guardians of our peace.
In his message to Mark the day, the Speaker said “on this solemn day, I pay special tribute to our fallen heroes – those who paid the supreme price in the line of duty. They are immortal in our national conscience, and their labour will never be in vain. Their sacrifice laid the foundation upon which our collective safety and freedom rest”.
He also celebrates the resilience of our officers and soldiers who continue to serve with honour, protecting both citizens and non-citizens within our borders.
Your role as critical stakeholders in the sustenance of our democracy cannot be overstated. Since 1999, your service has contributed immensely to Nigeria’s socio-economic and political stability.
According to him, the House of Representatives remains fully committed to empowering the nation’s security and intelligence agencies, because the safety of lives and property is the foremost responsibility of the government.
He expressed optimism that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, through deliberate reforms and adjustments in our security architecture, will continue to confront and overcome the security challenges facing our nation.
Dr Abbas Tajudeen added that “to every officer, every soldier, and every family that bears the weight of service – today, Nigeria remembers.
