Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has launched the disbursement of compensation to families affected by the construction of the Rigasa Township Roads: Makera Road, Lokoja Road, Ado Gwaram Road, and the Asmau Makarfi Spur.
Speaking at the event, the Governor said these roads are more than infrastructure; they are instruments of equity, designed to unlock commerce, shorten distances between aspiration and opportunity, and restore dignity to the everyday journeys of our people.
According to him, in the execution of this project, 189 households were identified within the right-of-way. From the outset, we resolved that development must never proceed at the expense of justice. He equally gave assurance that no family would be displaced without fair and adequate recompense.
Governor Uba Sani maintained that the release of hundreds of millions of naira affirms that principle. Across Kaduna State, we have upheld the same standard; compensating affected households in Mahuta, Magajiya to Albarkawa, Audi to Kako, Dogon Bauchi to Kakiyeyi, and Kabala Costain; bringing total compensation to approximately ₦2.85 billion.
He therefore expressed delight and feels encouraged by the gracious cooperation of community leaders and beneficiaries alike, whose sacrifice reflects a shared commitment to progress.
Gov Uba Sani maintained that “When governance is anchored in dialogue, transparency, and compassion, development becomes not an imposition, but a collective achievement that will endure for generations”.
