Former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has approved the distribution of 746 trucks of assorted food items to residents of Zamfara State as part of his 2026 Ramadan welfare package.
In a statement issued by the Chairman of the Publicity Committee, Ibrahim Muhammad Danmadanin Birnin Magaji,said the Chairman of Senator Abdulaziz Yari’s State Distribution Committee and Chairman of the Governing Board of Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika, Zaria, Dr. Lawal M. Liman (Gabdon Kaura), announced this.
He maintained, 628 trucks of assorted food items are earmarked for distribution to the general public across the state, irrespective of political affiliation.
Dr Lawal m Liman said that 118 trucks of rice will be distributed to Polling Unit Committees through the Zamfara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the 147 political wards in the state as Phase One of the exercise.
The Chairman of the committee further explained that each of the 14 Local Government Areas of the state will receive 45 trucks of assorted food items.
According to him,a total of 315,000 beneficiaries have been captured for the distribution, which is expected to commence before the start of the 2026 Ramadan fast.
The Chairman, who holds the title of Gabɗon Ƙaura,Kauran Namoda,urged all officials involved in the distribution process at various levels to ensure strict compliance with laid-down guidelines to guarantee transparency and fairness.
He emphasized that the gesture was in line with Senator Yari’s commitment to alleviating hardship and supporting vulnerable residents of Zamfara State during the holy month of Ramadan.
