The Sabuwa Local Government Council has announced that another eighteen (18) kidnapped persons have today regained their freedom after the successful peace dialogue with the repentant Fulani group.
This development marks another milestone in the council’s continuous efforts to restore lasting peace, security, and mutual trust among all communities within the local government area.
The release of these individuals follows the sustained dialogue and reconciliation initiatives facilitated by the Peace and Reconciliation Committee, traditional institutions, security agencies, and critical community stakeholders.
The Executive Chairman, Engr. Sagir Tanimu, who confirmed the development in a statement also commended the repentant Fulani group for their cooperation and commitment to the peace process, and also appreciated the relentless support of the Katsina State Government, security operatives, and all peace partners whose collaboration has continued to yield positive results.
While reaffirming the council’s commitment to peaceful coexistence, Engr. Sagir urged all residents to continue supporting ongoing reconciliation efforts and to report any issues through established local security and peace channels.
The statement said Peace and development remain our collective priority — and through dialogue, understanding, and forgiveness, Sabuwa will continue to move forward.
