MAIDEN 114 BATTALION (REAR) WASA 2025: BRIGADE COMMANDER COMMENDS TROOPS, REAFFIRMS SUPPORT

The maiden West African Social Activities (WASA) 2025 of 114 Battalion (Rear) was held on 24 January 2026 at the Battalion Parade Ground, Jimilari, in a colourful ceremony celebrating unity, tradition, and esprit de corps among officers, soldiers, and their families.

The Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, who was the Special Guest of Honour, commended the Commanding Officer, officers, and soldiers of the Battalion for their discipline, professionalism, and dedication.

He noted that the Battalion’s roles in operational support, administration, and regimentation remain critical to the success and achievement of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 OPWS.

Brigadier General Uwa also appreciated the spouses and families of troops for their patience, resilience, and unwavering support, describing their sacrifices as a vital foundation for morale and operational effectiveness within the Nigerian Army.

He encouraged personnel to use the WASA celebration to renew their commitment to discipline, loyalty, teamwork, and unity across ranks and cultures.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Commanding Officer, 114 Battalion (Rear), Major John Kopji Datol, described the event as historic, noting that it marked the first WASA celebration in the history of the Battalion.

He expressed profound gratitude to the Commander 6 Brigade for his sustained support, particularly in the areas of welfare, training, operations, and regimentation.

A statement signed by lieutenant Umar Muhammad Acting Assistant director 6 brigade,Army Public Relations,Nigerian army said the event featured cultural displays and social activities aimed at strengthening unity, morale, and camaraderie among officers, soldiers, their families, and friends of the Battalion.
