The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Hon. Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad Jaga, (Thursday) had a highly eventful and impactful day as he engaged with key stakeholders and undertook several humanitarian and development-driven activities across the local government area.

Early in the day the Chairman received members of the LLMCU Unit under the Office of the Health Secretary, Dr. Hauwa Mohammed, who paid a courtesy visit to discuss ongoing health programmes and strategies to strengthen local healthcare delivery.

He also hosted officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) led by CRC Nasiru Abdullahi Falgore, Unit Commander, Zaria Unit Command II, accompanied by SRC Abdullahi Sale, OC Kofar Doka Outpost, Tudun Wada Zaria, and other officers.

A statement signed by the chief press secretary to the chairman,Ishaq Galadima said discussions focused on improving road safety, traffic management, and community awareness initiatives across Zaria.

Demonstrating his administration’s inclusive spirit, the Chairman presented a hand-powered tricycle—through Malam Hamza Albarka and CPS Malam Ishaq Galadima—to an elderly physically challenged woman, Malama Uwa, as part of efforts to support persons with special needs.Also later in the day,

Hon. Jaga paid condolence visits to sympathize with bereaved families across various communities, offering prayers and words of comfort.

The visits included the following places:1. Late Hajiya Babba, Gidan Alhaji Tijjani Gyallesu, Zaria 2. Late Hamisu, Gidan Mahauta, Unguwar Dankali, Kufena, Zaria3. Late Yunusa Ahmad and his mother-in-law, Hajiya Halima, who both passed away the same day at Iya Abdullahi Residence, Unguwar Lemu, Kwarbai, Zaria4. Late Alhaji Danasabe Muhammad, Unguwar Alkali, Zaria5. Late Malama Nafisa Sule, Sule Ringim House, Tudun Wada, Zaria.

Similarly he also paid compassionate visits to Prof. Shafiu Abdullahi, Wakilin Makarantar Zazzau, at his residence in GRA, Zaria, who recently returned from a medical trip to Egypt, and Malama Hadiza, who is currently receiving treatment at Almadina Hospital, Chikaji.

He offered prayers for their quick and full recovery.The Chairman further visited Alhaji Yau Yakubu of Dogarawa Zaria, who was recently released after being kidnapped and held for eight weeks while returning from Benin Republic.

He expressed gratitude to Allah for his safe return and prayed against the recurrence of such incidents.Hon. Jaga later inspected the Wusasa Community Market, where a fire outbreak had damaged several shops and part of a mosque.

He sympathized with affected traders and assured that the Council would assess the damage for possible relief intervention.

Before returning to the office in the evening, the Chairman stopped at Wusasa Underbridge to supervise the ongoing asphalt laying at Wusasa Road—a project facilitated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D, GCON, Iyan Zazzau.

He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring quality infrastructure delivery across Zaria Local Government.He concluded the day in his office, where he received various groups and individuals who came for different engagements centered on the growth and progress of the local government area.

In all, the day reflected Chairman Jaga’s steadfast dedication to service, compassion for the people, and commitment to driving inclusive growth and development across Zaria Local Government.
