3 Police Officers Killed Followig Suspected LAKURAWA Bandits Attack On Commuters in Kebbi.

The Kebbi State Police Command, has confirmed the killing of three police men following the Lakurawa bandits attack along Zogirma/Tilli road in Bunza local government area of the state.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Nafiu Abubakar said on receipt of a report that, Lakurawa bandits were sighted along Zogirma/Tilli road, on receipt of the information, the Zogirma Divisional Police Officer promptly mobilized a team of Policemen and rushed to the scene with reinforcement from No 36 Police Mobile Force Squadron, Birnin Kebbi.

“Upon arrival, the combined team of Policemen engaged the suspected Lakurawa bandits in a fierce gun duel. As a result, several suspected Lakurawa bandits were neutralised while others escaped to the nearby forest with fatal injuries. Regrettably, three (3) brave Police Officers lost their lives during the encounter.

The PPRO said, the Commissioner of Police, Bello Mohammed Sani, while commending the resilience, bravery and sacrifice of the fallen officers, prayed for their gentle souls to have an eternal rest.

He said, the command reiterated the its commitment towards ensuring the safety and security of the people of the State. He  equally calls on residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest Police station for prompt response, please.

An eye withness who wants to be ananymous said at about 7:00PM on Friday, they heard gunshots all over the village and “we after their and found some dead bodies while some are wounded”.
