……Committed to promoting Peace and Security
Katsina State government wishes to condemn the barbaric attack on participants of a security summit, today Tuesday 2nd September, 2025 at Almunaj Event Center Katsina, organized by a Non-Governmental organization, Katsina State Security Initiative.
This is contained in a statement signed by Bala Salisu PhD .Commissioner Ministry
Of information and culture made available to newsmen.
It said this not only violated the public right to freedom of Assembly, but also undermined government efforts to partnership and collaboration with all relevant stakeholders to achieve lasting peace in the state.
Although, accusation was labeled against the state government for its involvement in destabilizing the summit. We wish to unequivocally deny any involvement in such heinous activities.
We want to emphasize that, the government of Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON is committed to promoting peace and security in the state.
When a few days ago this committee convened a similar summit at Abuja, the State Government was well represented, by sending a high powered delegation comprising political office holders and civil servants to participate.
It is therefore illogical to accuse the state government for sponsoring hoodlums to destabilize the summit.
Katsina State believes in community engagement in addressing security challenges. The state government will support and facilitate dialogue and collaboration between various stakeholders to enhance the security situation in the state.
Destabilizing and disrupting a crucial initiative of this nature is against the Katsina state government’s objectives and values.
A check in our state government’s track record in promoting security and peace in state is enough to absolve the state government against any accusation.
Government has implemented various initiatives and policies to combat insecurity and improve the overall security situation in the state.
Katsina wishes to acknowledge the concerns raised by the community initiative regarding the security challenges in the state. We will partner with individuals and groups with ideas and suggestions that will contribute to end the security challenges in the state.
We hereby express our empathy towards the group over the unfortunate incident. We also wish to reassure them of Katsina State commitment and dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
At this point we urge media organisations and journalists to verify information before publishing it to avoid spreading misinformation or contributing to public confusion.
Peace and security is a collaborative effort, Katsina State will work closely with security agencies, community leaders, and other stakeholders to address security challenges collectively to achieve sustainable peace and stability in the state.
