The Kebbi State Police Command, has expressed concern over an unfortunate incident that occurred in the early hours of Friday in Badariya Area, Birnin Kebbi metropolis which resulted in the death of Sufiyanu Garba, aged 35, and the abduction of his wife.
In a statement by the Command’s Public Relations SP Bashir Usman said, Detectives promptly visited the scene and commenced necessary investigations after the report.
The statement said, the Command observed that a police checkpoint is situated not far away from the scene of the incident, which could have been informed for rapid response.
It’s said, the victim was taken to Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor. His remains have since been deposited at the hospital morgue.
The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the case and ensure a thorough and diligent investigation aimed at rescuing the abducted victim and bringing those responsible to justice.
The Command also reassures residents that necessary steps are being taken to further strengthen the security architecture across the State.
