The flood assessment Committee set up by the Kebbi state Government to assess the level of infrastructural damages caused by recent floods has commenced its assignment across the state.
The Committee, which comprises key stakeholders from relevant ministries and agencies, has visited some affected areas to inspect, document, and evaluate the extent of destruction.
The exercise is aimed at providing timely intervention and generating accurate data to guide government decisions on rehabilitation and reconstruction.
In carrying out its work, the Committee will identify priority areas, estimate the cost of repairs, and recommend preventive measures to avert future occurrences of such devastation.
The committee is chaired by the state Commissioner for works, Eng. Abdullahi Umar Faruq and some relevant Commissioners as members.
