KDHA CONTINUED TO CONSIDER THE BUDGET OF KADUNA STATE LOCAL GOVERNMENTS FOR APPROVAL

In line with the Constitutional provision, the Kaduna State House of Assembly Joint Committee on Appropriation & Implementation and Local Government & Rural Development, has continued its debate and consideration on the 23 Local Government budget estimates for the year 2026.

This is in line with the provisions of Sections 6(a) & (b), 7(1), and 162(6) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) 1999, based on the bill for A Law to Appropriate the sum of ₦152,121,771,148.81 (One Hundred Fifty-Two Billion, One Hundred Twenty-One Million, Seven Hundred Seventy-One Thousand, One Hundred and Forty-Eight Naira and Eighty-One Kobo) in favour of the 23 Local Government Councils of Kaduna State for the 2026 Fiscal Year.

Accordingly as at Tuesday 24 February 2026 the committee during its sitting has considered the budget presentations of eight more Local Government Councils

:* Soba

* Kajuru

* Kaura

* Chikun

* Kudan

* Zangon Kataf* Jema’a

* Kachia

A statement signed by Hon Barr Mahmud Lawal Ismaila, Member representing Zaria city constituency who also doubled as Deputy Chief Whip, Chairman House Committee on Education,said after scrutiny, observations, and adjustments, the Assembly has cleared the said Local Governments.

The Assembly adjourned the exercise until the next legislative, committee meeting.

He said the Kaduna State House of Assembly remains committed to its responsibilities, seeking the guidance of Almighty Allah as it continues to craft laws and initiatives aimed at the betterment of our communities, Kaduna State, and Nigeria as a whole.
