KBSG to Reintroduce House, Car, Motorcycle Loan for Teachers

The Kebbi State Government is to reintroduce house, cars, and motorcycles loans for primary and secondary school teachers across the state.

The state governor, Comrade Nasiru Idris, made the pledge while inaugurating 12,779 sets of furniture for primary and secondary schools across the state.

Speaking at the official inauguration ceremony, Governor Idris stated that the Government will continue to look into the plights of teachers.

He assured that, within the year 2026, the government will come up with a package that teachers of primary and post primary schools will benefit from.

“We shall soon reintroduce a soft loan package for teachers, covering car loan, motorcycle loan and house loan among others. “This was aimed at giving our teachers a strong sense of belonging.

“The Governor assured that the era of treating classroom teachers as second class citizens is over in Kebbi State.

Governor Idris also described the gesture as part of his government’s obligation to ensure that both students and teachers have adequate furniture in their classrooms.

He pledged the unwavering commitment of his administration to continue to provide a conducive atmosphere for both teaching and learning.

Apart from construction and renovation of various primary and post primary schools across Kebbi State, the Governor noted that the furniture distribution forms part of urgent measures to ensure that classrooms and offices are properly equipped.

“I want to assure the good people of Kebbi State that this is just the beginning, we will continue to provide this kind of furniture for both teachers and students,” he stated.

The Governor directed that the furniture be shared equally 50-50 between the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and the Universal Basic Education Board to ensure equitable distribution.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Associate Professor Halima Bande expressed happiness over what she described as a Governor’s holistic commitment to the education sector.
