The Kano State Commissioner for Transport, Barrister Haruna Isa Dederi, led a high-powered delegation to the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation to understudy its governance structure, policy framework, and coordination mechanisms in managing public transport systems.

The visit, part of a study tour on Benchmarking Best Practices in Public Transportation Management, aimed to explore Lagos State’s effective policy formulation, regulatory enforcement, and inter-agency collaboration in the transport sector.

The delegation, comprising the Managing Director of Kano Line, Alhaji Sa’idu Abdullahi Shu’aibu, engaged in discussions with key Ministry officials on areas of mutual interest, including global collaboration, innovation, and sustainable urban mobility. Barrister Dederi commended the Lagos State Government for its progressive transportation policies and reiterated Kano State’s readiness to adapt lessons learned to enhance the operations of the Kano State Transport Authority (KASTA) and Kano Line.

This visit underscores the Kano State Government’s vision to transform public transportation to international standards through knowledge exchange and inter-state cooperation.
