The Kano state government has pledged to strengthen bilateral relationships with the Republic of India in the areas of education, health, agriculture, mining import and export.The Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf disclosed this while the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria Ambassador Abhishek Singh paid him a courtesy call.
This was contained in a press release by Mustapha Muhammad, the Chief Press Secretary to the Kano state governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The governor briefed the High commissioner and his team how he met the education sector in total decay and his efforts in revamping the sector, mentioning educational stride including foreign scholarships.
According to the statement the governor emphasized that the Kano state government would partner with India in several areas which include education, agriculture, health and mining, among others.
Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, after watching the presentation of KYAN machine by the team of the High Commission, he reiterated the intent of the government to collaborate with Indian government.
Earlier on, the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Abhishek Singh, informed the Kano state governor that they are seeking for collaboration on education, health, agriculture, mining and investments among others.Mr Singh, stated that India is always ready to partner with Kano state government to develop the state further.
He directed his men to present to the governor how the KYAN machine can improve education in the state, demonstrating and showcasing the function of the system.
Highlight of the courtesy is the presentation of souvenirs to the visitors by His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf and reciprocating the gesture the Ambassador Abhishek Singh, also presented a gift to the governor.
