The Kaduna State Police Command wishes to caution members of the public to remain peaceful and law-abiding while exercising their civic responsibility in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Command has received credible intelligence that some politicians and their supporters are plotting to disrupt the electoral process and cause crises. Let it be made abundantly clear that such actions will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Anyone, no matter how highly placed, who engages in violence, intimidation, vote-buying, thuggery, or any form of disruption will be arrested immediately and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
This is contained in a statement signed by DSP Mansur Hassan, the command public relations officer, issued to newsmen.

The statement added that the Police Command has made robust security arrangements in collaboration with other sister security agencies. Personnel will be deployed to all polling units, collation centres, flashpoints, and strategic locations. Security operatives have been directed to be firm, professional, and uncompromising in dealing with individuals or groups who attempt to undermine the peace and orderliness of the elections.

It said the Commissioner of Police, therefore, warns all political actors, party loyalists, and their supporters to conduct themselves responsibly and to desist from acts capable of causing any unrest.

The Command urges all law-abiding citizens to go out and cast their votes without fear or intimidation, as adequate security has been put in place to protect them and ensure a credible electoral process
