JUST IN : PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS NEW SERVICE CHIEFS

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved changes in the hierarchy of the Service Chiefs as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s national security architecture.

According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, the President appointed General Olufemi Oluyede as the new Chief of Defence Staff, replacing General Christopher Musa.

Others appointed are Major-General W. Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff, Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke as Chief of Air Staff, and Rear Admiral I. Abbas as Chief of Naval Staff, while Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye retains his position as Chief of Defence Intelligence.

President Tinubu expressed profound appreciation to the outgoing Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and other former Service Chiefs for their patriotic service and dedicated leadership.

The President charged the newly appointed Service Chiefs to justify the confidence reposed in them by enhancing professionalism, vigilance, and comradeship in the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

The statement said all appointments take immediate effect.
