The Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council Eng Jamil Mohammed Jaga has commissioned the newly constructed Tudun Wada Skills Acquisition Centre along Maje Road, Tudun Wada, on behalf of the leader and principal of the Council, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, GCON, Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The Chairman commended the Tudun Wada Sustainable Development Initiative for executing the laudable project and urged youths within the area to fully utilize the centre by acquiring practical and marketable skills that will enhance self-reliance, productivity, and economic empowerment.
Thereafter, the Chairman attended the Renewed Hope Christmas Outreach organized by the Fatima Tajudeen Abbas Foundation at the Zaria Local Government Secretariat.
The outreach, facilitated by Hajiya Fatima Tajudeen Abbas, First Lady of the Rt. Hon. Speaker, benefitted over 500 Christian residents, who received cash assistance and rice palliatives ahead of the Christmas celebration. Solar fans and other relief items were also distributed.
A statement signed by Ishaq Galadima, Chief press secretary office of the Chairman said the Chairman commended her compassion, generosity, and commitment to promoting unity and supporting vulnerable members of the community.
The Chairman also attended an Empowerment and Scholarship Programme organized by Hon. Abdullahi Sale, Councillor representing Dutsen Abba Ward, during which over 100 men and women were empowered, while 10 beneficiaries were sponsored with scholarships to the School of Health.
The Chairman appreciated the Councillor for the initiative, describing it as a strategic investment in human capital development.
Later in the evening, the Chairman received members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Keke Napep Unit, Zaria Local Government, who paid a courtesy visit to congratulate him on his first year in office and presented awards in recognition of his leadership.
The Chairman expressed appreciation for the honour and the union’s continued support.
The Chairman reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to inclusive governance, youth empowerment, social cohesion, and sustainable development across Zaria Local Government.
