House of Representatives to Hold Interactive Session on 2026–2028 MTEF and Fiscal Strategy Paper

The House of Representatives, through its Committees on Finance and National Planning, is set to convene a One-Day Interactive Session with relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), as well as Government-Owned Enterprises (GOEs), on the 2026–2028 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP).

The session, which will be formally declared open by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON, is scheduled as follows

venue:Conference Hall 028, House of Representatives New Building,National Assembly Complex, Three Arms Zone, Abuja.

The interactive engagement is designed to promote informed dialogue between the Legislature and the Executive, enhance fiscal coordination, and strengthen parliamentary oversight in the formulation of the 2026–2028 MTEF and FSP.

It will provide MDAs and GOEs with the opportunity to present sectoral inputs, clarify macroeconomic assumptions, and align proposed expenditures with national development priorities.

The session will be jointly hosted by:- Rt. Hon. (Dr.) James Abiodun Faleke, OON,Chairman, House Committee on Finance; and- Rep. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, Chairman, House Committee on National Planning and Economic Development.

The House of Representatives reiterates its commitment to ensuring that the MTEF and FSP process is anchored on fiscal prudence, sustainability, and responsiveness to the socio-economic aspirations of Nigerians, in line with its constitutional mandate.

A statement signed by Representative Akin Rotimi,mnipr, Spokesman, House of representatives said all invited MDAs and GOEs are urged to attend punctually and participate actively in the deliberations.
