The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad,has launched one of the best health care delivery policies pioneering free drugs distribution for residents of the local government.
The Chairman launched the programme at Primary health care Centre PHC in Dakace, Zaria on Thursday.He was represented at the occasion by his Chief Press Secretary, Ishaq Galadima.
The exercise was facilitated by the Kaduna State Ministry for Local Government Affairs under the leadership of the Honourable Commissioner, Sadiq Mamman Lagos.
The initiative aims to improve access to essential medicines and strengthen primary healthcare services for residents at the grassroots level.
The distribution exercise was carried out alongside members of the Uba Sani Support Group, led by Zarah Askira, as part of their continued efforts to support community health initiatives and ensure that vulnerable populations benefit from government healthcare interventions.
Several dignitaries and community leaders graced the occasion, including the District Head of Waje Durumbun Zazzau, Nuhu Aminu Bamalli; the Health Secretary of Zaria Local Government, Hauwa Muhammad Mahmud; the Councilor representing Dambo Ward, Mohammad Kabir; the Santurakin Dakace, Sani Iliyasu Ibrahim; and Hadiza Ladi Maman Chikun, among other notable stakeholders and community representatives.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman’s representative,Ishaq Galadima, commended the Kaduna State Government and the Ministry for Local Government Affairs for initiating programmes that directly impact the health and wellbeing of people at the community level.
He reiterated the commitment of the Zaria Local Government Council to supporting initiatives that strengthen primary healthcare delivery and improve access to essential medical services for residents.
The exercise reflects the continued dedication of the Kaduna State Government and relevant partners toward building a healthier society through improved healthcare access and community-focused interventions.
