Governor Yusuf Approves ₦26.1bn for Roads, Water Supply, and Compensation

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved ₦26.1 billion for road construction, water supply, and compensation projects across the state.

This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Saturday

The approvals were granted at the 35th Executive Council Meeting held on 18th December, 2025.

Major approvals include ₦16.29 billion for the re-award of the Gwarzo–Tsaure–Tsanyawa Road.

₦6.81 billion for compensation to 5,015 Rimin Zakara property owners, and ₦2.22 billion for rehabilitation of Murtala Mohammed Way and adjoining roads.

Governor Yusuf also approved ₦398.2 million for Phase II of the Abba Kabir Yusuf Reach-Out Water Supply Projects.

₦182.1 million for Hotoro water pipeline expansion, and ₦111.7 million for rehabilitation of Gani Earth Dam.

The Governor said the projects are designed to improve mobility, access to clean water, and economic activities across Kano.
