Gov Uba Sani of Kaduna State has held a thoughtful and far-reaching meeting with His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
He said the engagement focused on issues of strategic importance to Kaduna State, particularly security, infrastructure, and the broader development priorities essential to achieving lasting stability and shared prosperity for our people.
Gov Uba Sani said he briefed Mr President on the safe return of worshippers abducted from churches in Kurmin Wali community, Kajuru Local Government Area, on January 18, 2026. I provided a detailed account of the painstaking, intelligence-driven operations carried out through close and effective collaboration between state and federal security agencies, which culminated in the successful rescue of all victims.
The Governor explained that this outcome affirms the strength of coordinated leadership, institutional synergy, and the professionalism of our national security architecture when guided by clarity of purpose and unwavering resolve.
According to him,during the meeting,” I expressed my deep appreciation to Mr President for his ceaseless personal calls throughout the two weeks our citizens were held in captivity. I emphasised that his consistent outreach was deeply reassuring and profoundly comforting, not only to the affected families but also to the wider Kaduna community during a most trying period”.
Similarly beyond security, the governor said they reviewed key developmental and infrastructural priorities critical to Kaduna State’s continued progress. Of particular significance was the commencement of the long-awaited Birnin Gwari road project; a transformative intervention that will strengthen security, unlock economic opportunities, and restore vital connectivity to communities that have endured prolonged isolation and vulnerability.
The meeting also agreed on the urgency of commencing the rehabilitation of the Kaduna Eastern Bypass, the Jere–Kwoi–Kafanchan road, and the Zaria–Pambegua-Saminaka road, all of which are essential to regional mobility and economic integration.
He maintained that in the course of the meeting he conveyed his profound appreciation to Mr President for his steadfast support for Kaduna State and for the Federal Government’s sustained partnership in enhancing security and accelerating development, and also paid tribute to the dedication, discipline, and quiet sacrifice of our security personnel, whose professionalism ensured the safe return of the abducted worshippers.
Gov Uba Sani also used the opportunity to reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to continued collaboration with the Federal Government in delivering durable security, inclusive infrastructure, and meaningful development for the people of Kaduna State.
