Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has met with All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders from the 34 Local Government Areas, alongside all the 34 Local Government Chairmen, to review the progress of the ongoing APC electronic registration exercise in the state.

Speaking at the meeting, the Governor said the engagement was aimed at ensuring that the registration process is carried out effectively, with a view to positioning Katsina State among the best-performing states in the exercise. He disclosed that the e-registration exercise is expected to be concluded within the next one to two weeks, stressing the need to urgently address all identified gaps and challenges before the deadline.

Governor Radda described the exercise as crucial to strengthening the party at the grassroots, particularly as it is being conducted digitally.

He therefore urged all stakeholders to intensify mobilisation in their respective communities to ensure massive participation.

The Governor identified the lack of National Identification Numbers (NIN) among many community members as one of the major challenges affecting the registration process.

To address this, he directed that each ward across the 34 Local Government Areas should designate agents to assist residents during registration.

“As leaders of the APC, we must take responsibility and ensure the success of this exercise. All stakeholders must act promptly before the deadline,” he said.

He further called on elected political office holders to play active roles, adding that each local government should have at least 12 committed stakeholders in every ward to drive the process.

Governor Radda emphasized that at this critical stage, party leaders must return to their communities to ensure full participation in the exercise.

He also reiterated the importance of possessing a valid NIN, noting that it is now essential for governance, access to opportunities and full inclusion in national development, especially in the North-West.

In his remarks, the Chief of Staff, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, commended some Local Government Areas for their impressive performance in the ongoing e-registration, describing them as proactive and well-coordinated in grassroots mobilisation.

He, however, expressed concern over councils that were yet to record satisfactory progress, attributing this to weak mobilisation and inadequate deployment of registration agents at the ward level.

He urged them to step up efforts, intensify community engagement and close the gap before the deadline.

The APC State Chairman, Hon. Sani JB Daura, called on all stakeholders to redouble their efforts in strengthening the party, recalling that the APC produced a President who successfully completed an eight-year tenure.

He said this legacy places a great responsibility on party leaders and members to consolidate the party’s structures and sustain unity and effective mobilisation at all levels.

The meeting was attended by the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura; Member representing Mashi/Dutsi, Hon. Salisu Yusuf Majigiri; Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Garba Faskari; Chief of Staff, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; Principal Private Secretary, Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji; APC State Chairman, Sani Jibrin Daura; Chairman, Auda Nepad National Coordinator Jabiru Tsauri, Chairman Gwagware Foundation, Yusuf Ali Musawa; and members of the Katsina State Executive Council
