Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has commissioned a newly constructed Jumu’at Mosque at the Kano State Government House.
This was contained in a Press Statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad in Kano on Friday.
The commissioning of the mosque is part of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration’s efforts to promote religious activities and provide a conducive environment for staff and visitors to the Government House to observe their prayers in comfort and peace.It also reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to supporting religious affairs and strengthening values such as honesty, trustworthiness, and peaceful coexistence among the people.
The maiden Jumu’at prayer was led by the Emir of Kano, Khalifah Muhammad Sanusi II who delivered a heart-touching sermon that focuses on the need of helping the poor and the needy during the month of Ramadan and beyond.
The Emir also highlighted the importance of building a mosque as a great and lasting charity (Sadaqatul Jariyah) that benefits the community both in this world and in the Hereafter.
He also called on the people to value the new mosque by attending prayers regularly, maintaining its cleanliness, and contributing toward the sustainability of its activities, encouraging the faithful to engage actively in acts of worship within the mosque and to offer prayers for peace, progress, and unity.
The mosque opening was attended by the Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore, Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, Saudi Consul-General in Kano, Khalid Ahmad Aladhamawi, Commissioners and other senior government officials among others.
