The Katsina State Governor and Chairman of the North-West Governors’ Forum, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has joined the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas; and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, en route to Jos, Plateau State, ahead of the formal defection of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang to the ruling APC.

The high-level delegation departed from the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Also in the delegation were the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma; the Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu; former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha; and other senior federal and party leaders.

Speaking on the significance of the development, the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Rt. Hon. Idris Ahmed Wase, described Governor Mutfwang’s decision to join the APC as a historic political realignment that reflects a growing commitment to unity, inclusive governance, and collective responsibility in Plateau State.

According to him, the move underscores the need for leadership that rises above partisan considerations in order to deliver peace, stability, and tangible dividends of democracy to the people.

Wase added that Governor Mutfwang’s defection to the ruling APC is a bold and strategic step that places the interest of the people of Plateau State first, helps to bridge political divides, and positions the state to benefit more from the Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the areas of security, infrastructure, job creation, and social development.
