Gov. Inuwa Yahaya Condoles Family of Late Prof. Buba Bajoga, Joins Special Prayers in Abuja

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, on Sunday in Abuja, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late elder statesman and renowned academic, Professor Buba Garegy Bajoga, where he commiserated with the bereaved family and participated in a special three-day prayer session held for the repose of the soul of the deceased.

A statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misili DG press affairs Gombe State government house said the Governor, who was received by family members and close associates of the deceased, expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the distinguished engineer, educator and public servant, describing his death as a profound loss to Gombe State, the academic community and the nation at large.

Recall that Governor Inuwa Yahaya had earlier, in an official statement, described the late Professor Bajoga as an academic of international repute and an illustrious son who devoted his life to scholarship, public service and national development.

He particularly noted the invaluable contributions of the deceased to the development of tertiary education in Gombe State, especially his role as Chairman of the Committee on Tertiary Institutions in 2020, stating that the committee’s recommendations provided strategic direction and significantly strengthened the ongoing reforms in the sector under the present administration.

“Professor Bajoga was a man of exceptional intellect, integrity and uncommon commitment to national service.

His counsel, experience and patriotism greatly strengthened our efforts to reform and reposition tertiary education in Gombe State,” Governor Inuwa Yahaya said.

The Governor prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the departed scholar, reward his lifetime of service with Aljannatul Firdaus, and grant his family, loved ones and the entire academic community the fortitude to bear the great loss.

Also present at the special prayer session were Dr. Ibrahim Jalo Daudu, Permanent Member of the Federal Civil Service Commission representing Adamawa, Gombe and Taraba States; the Permanent Secretary, Service Policies and Strategies Office, Dr. Ishiyaku M. Mohammed; the Wazirin Gombe, Dr. Isa Jalo Waziri, among others.
