…prays for the couple
Yobe state Governor, Hon. (Dr ) Mai Mala Buni CON COMN today married out Zainab Yusuf Manu to Sani Nadabo Chanchangi at Sultan Bello Mosque, Kaduna.
Zainab, daughter of Gen. Yusuf Manu (rtd), a prominent son of Yobe state, and former Commandant of the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA).
In a show of solidarity, Governor Buni, accompanied by prominent sons of the state including Sen. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, Sen. Mohammed Hassan brother to Gen. Yusuf, retired senior Military officers and several other sons of the state graced the occasion.
A statement signed by the DG Press and media affairs to the Governor Mal Mamman Mohammed quoted Gov. Buni as saying the sum of N500,000 was paid as dowry in fulfilment of the marriage rites.
Prominent Islamic scholars including Dr. Ahmad Mahmoud Gumi prayed for the new couple and for peace across the country.
Similarly, Governor Buni prayed for the couple, urging them to always appreciate, accommodate and tolerate each other for Allah’s blessing of the union.
Buni also prayed for peace and security in Nigeria “as faithful, we should always pray for the government and our security forces for peace to reign in Nigeria” he said.
