The Gombe State Government has formally handed over the construction site for the construction of 6.3 kilometres of road network within the newly 550 developed Family Homes Estate, along Western bypass road, extending to connect inner suburbs of Northern Tumfure, to Datum Construction Nigeria Limited at the cost of N7.097 billion with the completion period of 8months and the provision/construction of roads and other essential facilities at the Qatar Foundation site along the Southern bypass road to SWAS Grade Nigeria Limited at the cost of N714,366,691 with the completion period of 4 months.
At a brief ceremony held at the project sites, the Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transportation, Engr. Usman Maijama’a Kallamu, PhD said by the official handing over of the sites, works will begin in earnest.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Danladi Adamu, thanked Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,CON for approving and awarding the project, he said that by providing road network at the two sites, it will ensure optimal use of the facilities for the benefit of the people of Gombe.
He called on the contractor to execute quality job and deliver the project within stipulated timeframe, and also assuring constant supervision from the Ministry’s Engineers to ensure compliance with specifications, while promising prompt payments for work done.
“These projects will ensure optimal utilization of the estates and improve accessibility for residents. We urge the contractors to deliver quality work within the stipulated time,” he stated.
In their separate remarks, the Project Manager, Datum Construction Nigeria Ltd, Engineer Ibrahim Najjar and his counterpart of SWAS Grade Nigeria Ltd. Engineer Auwal Suleiman appreciated the foresight and visionary leadership of Governor Inuwa Yahaya in infrastructural development of Gombe State.
They assured the state government of their total commitment to delivering durable and timely projects.
