Gombe Government Donates Operational Vehicles to Hunters Association, Vigilante Group to Boost Security

The Gombe State Government has donated operational vehicles to the Hunters Association and the Vigilante Group (VGN), as part of efforts to strengthen security operations across the state.

The intervention includes the donation of two (2) Toyota Hilux vehicles to the Hunters Association of Gombe State, led by Alhaji Rabiu Baushe (Baushen Gombe), and one (1) Toyota Hilux vehicle to the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Gombe State Command, under the leadership of Abubakar Yaro.

Presenting the vehicles on behalf of the state government, the Director-General and Commandant of the Gombe State Security, Traffic and Environmental Corps (GOSTEC)/Operation Hattara, ACP Ibrahim Bappah, Rtd, explained that the support is aimed at strengthening internal security through Operation Hattara and deepening collaboration among security and community-based enforcement groups in proactively addressing security challenges.

“I wish to state that these vehicles are being donated to the leadership of the respective organisations as part of the Gombe State Government’s deliberate strategy to enhance their operational capacity and to promote effective inter-agency cooperation in the collective effort to safeguard lives and property across the state.

”He expressed appreciation to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, for his sustained commitment to enhancing security and protecting lives and property in the state.

ACP Bappah described the donation as timely and strategic, noting that the provision of the vehicles will significantly improve mobility, response time, and the overall effectiveness of security operations.

In their response, the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Gombe State Government for the support and assured that the vehicles would be judiciously deployed strictly for security operations in line with established regulations, in the collective interest of peace and public safety across Gombe State.
