GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING 3 DIVISION CONDUCTS OPERATIONAL ASSESSMENT VISIT TO 33 ARTILLERY BRIGADE, REINFORCES TROOPS READINESS TO COMBAT TERRORISTS

As part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen operational effectiveness and enhance security across the 3 Division’s Area of Responsibility (AOR), the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), Major General Folusho Oyinlola, conducted an operational assessment visit to Headquarters 33 Artillery Brigade in Shadawanka Barracks, Bauchi State.

The Commander 33 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General UG Simon received and briefed the GOC and members of his entourage at the Brigade Ops Room on the Brigade’s ongoing operational achievements at Mansur and Bagobiri all in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

A statement signed by Lieutenant Oluwakemi Esther Fagbolagun,Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations ,33 Brigade Nigerian Army said the Commander further assured the GOC that the troops are combat-ready for the ongoing and future operations.

He reaffirmed the troops unwavering commitment to sustaining aggressive and intelligence-led operations specifically aimed at completely denying terrorists freedom of action and ensuring restoring lasting peace within the Brigade’s Area of Responsibility.

The brief highlighted sustained offensive operations and intelligence-driven patrols to disrupt terrorist networks, improve inter-unit coordination and maintain seamless collaboration with Sector 2 OPEP.

In his remarks, the GOC, Major General Oyinlola emphasized the importance of continuous deployment of troops across Forward Operating Bases (FOB) to dominate the operational environment and prevent terrorists from regrouping or operating freely.

He stressed that enhanced synergy among units and sister security agencies remains critical to consolidating operational gains.

The GOC further noted that these directives align with the Command Philosophy and strategic guidance of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General W Shaibu, NAM whose vision prioritizes professionalism, operational efficiency and troop welfare as essential pillars for mission success.

The GOC, alongside the Air Officer Commanding, Nigerian Air Force Special Operations Command, represented by his COS, Air Vice Marshal SS Lazarus, Commander 251 Base Service Group, Nigerian Airforce, Air Commodore Y Bashir and the 33 Brigade Commander, Brig Gen UG Simon, proceeded to Headquarters, Nigerian Army Armoured Corps on an operational visit to the Commander Armoured Corps, Major General UB Abubakar, for operational discussions aimed at strengthening inter-corps coordination and enhancing overall combat readiness.

The visit highlighted the Division’s resilience, operational readiness and strategic deployment of troops across critical locations within the Theatre, reaffirming the Nigerian Army’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding lives and property, protecting the law-abiding citizens and defending Nigeria’s sovereignty.
